Eating Balot الأكل بالوت
Before even starting I know whats already on your mind… What the hell is Balut most of you would ask? قبل البدء حتى أعرف ماذا يكون بالفعل على عقلك... ماذا بحق الجحيم هو بلوط معظمكم سوف تسأل؟ In fact it's simply a fertilized duck egg with an almost fully matured embryo inside that's served boiled alive and eaten in its shell. في الواقع انها مجرد بطة بيضة ملقحة مع الجنين تقريبا نضجت تماما داخل هذا عمل مغلي وتؤكل على قيد الحياة في شل. They are considered delicacies in South East Asia and particularly the Philippines, Vietnam & Cambodia. وهي تعتبر شهية في جنوب شرق آسيا وخاصة الفلبين وفيتنام وكمبوديا.
Now for an intro to the story… After a long & strenuous previous night out partying that started at the All-you-can-drink Conway's bar of the luxurious Shangri-la Hotel in Makati & eventually ending in the Ermita Cowboy Grill somewhere estimated around 6:30 AM. الآن لمقدمة لهذه القصة... وبعد ليلة سابقة طويلة ومضنية من الحفلات التي بدأت في جميع عند يمكن للشرب شريط كونواي للفندق الفاخرة شانغريلا فى ماكاتى وتنتهي في نهاية المطاف في الشواية كاوبوي ارميتا المقدرة في مكان ما حول 06:30. We were invited to a BBQ later that afternoon by 2PM at some of Leif's Filipino friends place. ووجهت الدعوة الى بعد ظهر اليوم ونحن في وقت لاحق من قبل شواء 14:00 في بعض من مكان ليف الأصدقاء الفلبينيين. Given this I would never have imagined that I would be in the best mindset to attempt eating balut that night. ونظرا لهذا لم أكن لأتصور أن أكون في أفضل التفكير في محاولة أكل بلوط في تلك الليلة. But as the barbecue went on well into the evening and as our fourth case of San Miguel was under way a new sense of strength embodied us. ولكن كما ذهب الشواء على ما يرام في المساء ، وكما حالتنا الرابعة وسان ميغيل جار إحساس جديد يجسد قوة لنا. Eventually the persistent hangover was but a distant memory and everyone's systems were fully operational again. وكان في نهاية المطاف ولكن استمرار شبح ذكرى بعيدة ونظم الجميع جاهزة تماما للعمل مرة أخرى. That is when all of a sudden a Balut vendor passed by and the dare between me & Stewart was set… وهذا هو عندما تكون كافة بائع المفاجئ بلوط على مر وتجرؤ بيني وستيوارت كان من المقرر...
First of all I must say your friend and humble narrator is very proud to have made it all the way up from scratch to the second position of the بادئ ذي بدء ، يجب أن أقول صديقك المتواضع والراوي هو فخور جدا لجعلت من كل وسيلة تصل من الصفر إلى الموضع الثاني من t op 10 disgusting food . 10 ر المرجع الغذائي مثير للاشمئزاز. Part I : Vincent الجزء الأول : فنسنت
After a few explanations from a local on the techniques of eating balut and what I was going to endure I figured adding as much salt as possible would be a good idea. بعد قليل من التفسيرات المحلية على أساليب الأكل وبلوط ما كنت ذاهبا لتحمل فكنت أحسب إضافة الملح وأكبر قدر ممكن من شأنه أن يكون فكرة جيدة.
Oh well time to dig in and savor the delicious flavor… يا جيدا من الوقت لحفر في وتذوق نكهة لذيذة...
At this point my body told me something wasn't right with ingesting this food & I started heaving and gagging a bit.. عند هذه النقطة وقال جسدي لي شيئا لم يكن الحق مع تناول هذا الطعام وبدأت ترفع والإسكات قليلا..
Glad to the virtues of San Miguel I was able to chug down those nasty pieces I could feel refusing entry. سعيد لفضائل سان ميغيل وكنت قادرا على تحرك محدثا صوتا أسفل تلك القطع سيئة شعرت رفض الدخول.
Ok… From a quick peek of what's gonna have to be swallowed this is far from a won battle. طيب... من نظرة خاطفة سريعة لما ستعمل يجب أن ابتلع هذا أبعد ما يكون عن معركة وون. Salt it up more please! ملح على اكثر من فضلك!
Look at that nice consistency and color of whats going in.. لطيفة أن تناسق الألوان وما يجري فيها. انظروا.
Chewing it now all into nice little even shaped pieces… مضغ هو الآن في كل لطيف على شكل قطع صغيرة حتى...
And for the hard part.. وبالنسبة للجزء الثابت.. To swallow the damn thing. لابتلاع الشيء ملعونة.

A combat until the last final moment but the job got done nonetheless. وحتى لحظة مكافحة النهائي الأخير ، لكنها حصلت على انجاز المهمة رغم ذلك. Mission accomplished! المهمة أنجزت!

But things aren't always as easy as they appear at first.. لكن الأمور ليست دائما سهلة كما تبدو في أول..
Oh No, its not quite over yet… أوه لا ، ليست واردة على بعد...
Always gets the best when one reaches the middle part. دائما يحصل على أفضل وجه عندما تصل إلى واحد في الجزء الأوسط.
Getting it down is again a whole other deal. الحصول عليه مرة أخرى هو التوصل الى اتفاق كامل الأخرى.
